Dave Hemstad made his national television debut on CBC at the Halifax Comedy Festival, has performed on CBC Radio's Madly Off in All Directions, and has twice been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award. The Debaters on CBC is, quite simple, comic genius. Hemstad was even voted Best Comedian in Canada by the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities. Not too shabby for a guy who only decided to be a comedian after (no joke) a bolt of lighting derailed his hopes of being a professional golfer.

Dave Marsh is Head of CoreLogic ‘s Creative Development and Matrix training.  His session will focus on how Matrix 6.1 has changed since version 5.7 – beginning first with some similarities, then transitioning into some of the new functionality.  Time permitting; he’ll also like to touch on a couple of Matrix ‘futures’ such as our new Client Portal as well as Matrix Mobile.  In 2004, Dave Marsh graduated with Honors as a Systems Analyst and was immediately recruited by Tarasoft to help develop their flagship MLS® software product, Matrix. Recently acquired by CoreLogic, Matrix has since become one of the fastest growing MLS® systems in North America and Dave now splits his responsibilities equally between Head of Creative Development and Matrix training.  On the lighter side, Dave is affectionately known as “The Hulk” to the Matrix team.  Not sure if that means he is a gigantic, green, irradiated, mutated humanoid monster with incredible strength and an inability to control his rage or if Dave is cunning, brilliant, and scheming.   Perhaps best we don’t really find out because as the character himself puts it, “The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets!”

Vern Toews has been a REALTOR® for over 15 years. Before real estate he spent many years working on computers in a graphic design environment. He remembers DOS 2.5 and Windows 2.0. “I remember using a dial-up modem to access the internet for basic information back in 1982.” He is the lead instructor at the Winnipeg REALTORS® association, and has taught well over 200 Matrix classes. There is rarely a question that he doesn’t know the answer to. His session will focus on some little things that you may not know about Matrix, but that will make your life easier. “I always say, you don’t make money in front of the computer, you need to get your information and get out.” Vern just celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary and has 4 amazing kids.
