The past 4 years have been spent on Strategic Planning & Application Development for MTS Allstream’s Wireless Marketing.  In this role, he has responsibility not only to understand the rapidly changing world of telecommunications from both the provider’s perspective, but more importantly, from the customer’s needs. 

Kim Jasper

Kim Jasper is the Director of Communications for Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and The Asper Foundation.  She has had extensive experience in the communications and marketing field – with a career spanning over 25 years.  She was responsible for creating the very successful brand management strategy for United Way of Winnipeg – the first of its kind amongst Canadian United Ways and worked on the national team to create a unified brand strategy for United Ways across the country. She has led communications for a number of different organizations including Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba, Teachers Retirement Fund of Manitoba, and Boeing Canada Technology (where she was also the Ethics Advisor and led the community investment strategy.

Kim Marshall
Safety for REALTORS®

Kim has been involved in martial arts and self defense instruction since 1973 and holds a Yondan, 4th degree black belt in the International Meibukan Goju-ryu Karate-do Association.  As well as traditional Okinawa Meibukan Goju-ryu karate, his studies have included Judo, pressure point tactics, unarmed combat (combined non-classical Aikido and Jujitsu) tactical police baton, police officer safety tactics and weapons retention and disarming.

Kim is a retired police officer, having served in the Military Police Branch of the Canadian Forces for twenty-one years. His service included domestic policing, Criminal Investigations and Counter Intelligence.   Kim Sensei spent 7 of his 8 year service with the Canadian Forces Special Investigations Unit as a member of the Service’s elite Close Personal Protection Team (CPPT).  In this role Kim was responsible for the provision of bodyguard services to both national and international dignitaries.  CPPT services included pre-mission operation planning, on site residential security, transportation and route planning, security liaison with local officials and personal body guard services.

Klaus is a veteran of the hotel and hospitality industry and has been active in this industry since 1968. He has worked in Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, Norway, Germany, the United States and Canada, and has spent some time on a luxury cruise liner, the MS Vista Fjord. He has worked for international companies such as Hyatt, Westin, Radisson and Holiday Inn, as well as several 5 star luxury resorts in Switzerland.

Klaus joined the Winnipeg Convention Centre on June 1, 1993, as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

As Coordinator for Training and Marketing, Lynn St-Germain is responsible for providing training and technical support on CREA’s technology products to boards and associations. She regularly travels to various tradeshows and events across Canada in order to enhance member awareness of CREA programs, services and benefits. She has been with CREA for more than 10 years. Prior to CREA, Lynn worked in the federal government for 17 years and was involved in creating marketing and advertising campaign for proprietary software. 

Matt Falk
Comedian

Matt Falk is a nineteen year old Comedian from the small town of Niverville Manitoba (Canada). This young, up-and-coming star has risen faster than most comics dream for. He has been doing comedy professionally for about three years and in that short time he has managed to make quite a name for himself. Matt has worked with Brent Butt, Leland Klassen, Mike MacDonald, Gregg Proops, Scott Harris,  Dean Haglund, Jimmy Mac, Brian Lazanik and many more. He is a favorite at Rumors Comedy Club in Winnipeg, he was also the featured artist at the Winnipeg Gong Show. Matt recently placed third in the Canadian Comedy Tournament in Vancouver. He also just finished production of his one man show this past April. When he is not doing stand-up, Matt can be found working as a DJ at a South Eastern Manitoba radio station (Mix 96.7 fm!), or he can be found shamelessly self-promoting himself on his web site. Matt also enjoys referring to himself in third person. Matt's comedy is creative, clean, and one-of-a kind.

Nelson Karpa is the current City Assessor and Director of the Assessment and Taxation Department for the City of Winnipeg.

In his presentation, Nelson will aim at shedding light on what you can expect to see as the Assessment and Taxation department rolls out the 2010 General Assessment Preview Program. Nelson will discuss the projected property valuations that are expected as part of the 2010 general assessment.

In addition, Nelson will discuss the department’s recent achievement of ISO 9001:2000 certification making it the first (and only) assessment jurisdiction in North America to be awarded this high level of certification.
